Types of Fencing We Install
For gardens, popular choices include feather edge (featherboard) fencing, with its overlapping angled boards; closeboard fencing, built from vertical pales set in a timber frame for a robust, long-lasting boundary; and composite fencing, which resists rot, warping and fading with virtually no maintenance required.
The Durapost system pairs galvanised steel posts with a range of finishes for a fast, secure installation that can last up to 25 years, while picket fencing remains a popular, attractive option for front gardens and low-level boundaries. For larger properties and farms we also install post and rail fencing, palisade security fencing, and full estate fencing schemes.
Gates, Trellis and Fence Posts
A new fence is often finished with a matching gate – we supply solid timber gates painted or stained to complement your fencing, usually with same-day installation. Trellis toppers add extra privacy and a backdrop for climbing plants, and can be fitted to most fence styles.
Fence posts and gravel boards form the structural backbone of any fence: we use timber, concrete or steel posts depending on the site and budget, always set on a properly compacted base for long-term stability, with gravel boards helping keep the base of the fence protected from damp and pests.
Fencing FAQs
Fence height and type can be subject to local planning rules – privacy screens up to 2 metres are usually permitted without planning permission, though anything taller, or trellis added on top, may need consent from affected neighbours. It's always worth checking with your local council before work begins.
Installation time varies with the complexity of the design and the amount of ground work involved, and we'll give you an accurate timescale when we quote for your project.
We don't consider any fencing job finished until you're completely happy with both the product and the workmanship, and we're always on hand afterwards if a post needs adjusting or a panel needs attention. Call our team to arrange a free consultation.
